Dear friends,

Once again the months have flown by and it really is time for an update from the Borlase family. Spring is in the air (along with daffodils in the garden), and the children are looking forward to two weeks off school after Easter.

Over the Christmas period we enjoyed a visit from Kevin’s parents who experienced their first ever winter Christmas, and a new-year walk in the snow! They enjoyed catching up with their grandchildren, and also a few days with Liz’s parents and in the Lake District.

Dear friends,

For the past few weeks we’ve been enjoying the arrival of spring – longer evenings, some beautiful warm and sunny weather, and daffodils and blossom everywhere. We’ve enjoyed getting out at the weekends to do some walking, particularly as the children can now manage up to about four miles so the range of options continues to increase. A couple of weekends ago we went walking from Caldbeck, a small village south of Carlisle but just
inside the Lake District National Park. It was a pleasant stroll across farmland to another village, and then
returning alongside the river. Our lunch stop included a bouncing tree which the children thought was wonderful.

Liz is delighted to have sat and passed with merit (!) her MRCGP exams, and completed her GP training job at the end of March. She now has a short-term contract in the same practice until the end of August, and in the meantime continues looking for a permanent position. With exam pressure gone she has found time for a new keep fit activity and is thoroughly enjoying her weekly Egyptian belly dance classes.
